Raggetti Rv5 Violin Outfit 4/4 Size

The next step up from the RV2, the RV5 outfit is ideal for the intermediate to advanced student. Better grades of wood are selected for the RV5 which is crafted in the Raggetti workshop in China where the builders have been trained in the traditional Cremonese fashion of building. Close grained European mountain spruce is expertly graduated and tuned along with the Himalayan maple back that at this level begins to show flame and curl. The instrument is finished in an attractive oil varnish that has been tweaked over years of production for the Australian market.

As with most FPS student outfits the violin is fitted with a lightweight tailpiece with inbuilt adjusters for ease of tuning. Pegs, fingerboard, chinrest and endpin are all ebony and are fitted to the instrument. For fantastic value the outfit includes the popular TG lightweight oblong case and FPS brazilwood horsehair bow.

For this calibre of instrument a string upgrade is recommended. We suggest Pirastro Violino strings for this outfit, but check with your teacher for tailored advice. Your luthier may also recommend upgrading to a European aged maple bridge depending on your requirements.
