Guitar Restrings & Servicing

Includes restring, string stretch, fretboard clean and lemon oil. Does not include strings – strings are sold separately.

Guitar Setups

A guitar setup can improve both the playability and the sound of your guitar.  

A full set-up includes:

–       Restring (does not include strings – strings are sold separately)

–       Truss rod adjustment (straightens the neck)

–       Saddle adjustment and nut cut (optimises height and curve of strings)

–       Adjustment of harmonics (corrects intonation, electric guitars only)

–       Adjustment of pickup height (balances the volume across pickups, electric guitars only)

–       Minor additional repairs, such as tightening a loose socket or strap pin. 

•  Classical guitars (no truss rod) – $90
•  Acoustic guitars and folk instruments – $110
•  Electric guitars – $110
•  Electric guitars with Floyd Rose / Evertune – $150

Gauge Charts & Gut Strings

For many plucked and bowed instruments such as harps, lutes, guitars, gambas, violins, cello etc we can calculate gauge charts for specific strings densities in Nylgut, gut, fluorocarbon and nylon. This will allow you to convert your instruments current feel and string material into another material (often used in historical performance) whilst maintaining a similar tension and safe working load limit of the string. A string calculation is normally $120-$160.

We can also source gut and synthetic gut (nylgut) strings for most instruments including harp strings, lute strings, gamba strings and many more!
