Bass Guitar

The bass guitar or simply bass is a stringed instrument that shares many of the same qualities to an electric guitar, except with a longer neck and four to six strings. The four-string bass is tuned the same as the double bass tuned one octave lower than the tuning of the electric guitar (E, A, D, and G).

At Carlingford Music Centre we only stock the finest bass guitars including brands like Fender, Hofner, Ibanez, Yamaha and many more brands and vintage bass guitars. We also have a nice selection of acoustic bass guitars from brands like Cort, Tanglewood and many many more.

The Bass Guitar was First Built-in 1930s by Paul Tutmarc of Seattle, Washington it was designed as a fretted instrument that was played horizontally. But the Bass guitar was not popularised till the 1950s when Leo Fender's Company Fender with the help of this employee George Fullerton developed the first mass production bass guitar and the iconic fender precision bass was born.
