PJD Woodford Origin Standard – 3 Tone Sunburst

The PJD Woodford Origin Standard is a double-cut electric guitar from the PJD Origin Series, designed to provide a versatile HSS pickup configuration and broad tonal range within the Origin platform.

The guitar features a solid mahogany body with a gloss poly finish. This construction provides a balanced tonal response, strong midrange character, and consistent sustain, making the Woodford suitable for a wide range of playing styles.

The neck is constructed from maple and follows the PJD Standard neck profile with a 10″ (254mm) radius. The Woodford is available with either an Indian rosewood and is fitted with 22 medium frets, providing a consistent and comfortable playing surface across the neck.

The Woodford Origin Standard features a three-pickup configuration consisting of a PJD Origin Alnico V humbucker in the bridge position and PJD Origin Alnico V single-coil pickups in the middle and neck positions. This HSS configuration provides a broad tonal range, from full and powerful humbucker tones to clear and articulate single-coil sounds.

Hardware includes a vintage-style 6-point tremolo bridge, while the control layout provides practical access to the Woodford's range of pickup combinations. The instrument is supplied with a padded PJD gig bag.

The Woodford Origin Standard is also available in a range of finishes, including Midnight Black, Candy Apple Red and Firemist Gold.

PJD Origin electric guitars are available in Australia, including a range of finishes and configurations, through PJD Guitars Australia.

HSS Pickup Configuration

The Woodford Origin Standard combines a bridge humbucker with middle and neck single-coil pickups, providing three distinct pickup positions within a familiar HSS configuration.

The bridge Alnico V humbucker provides a fuller, higher-output sound suited to driven tones, while the middle and neck single coils offer clearer and more articulate sounds for clean playing and lower-gain applications.

The pickup selector allows players to move between the three pickup positions, giving the Woodford a versatile tonal range while retaining a straightforward and familiar control layout.
