With the CP88 and CP73, Yamaha has created two stage pianos aimed at the live musician - easy to carry, easy to use, and easily an outstanding sound."CP" is Yamaha's acronym for Combo Piano. The history of this instrument category began back in 1976 when the focus was on the "electrification" of a classic grand piano. The aim was to make it literally easier to transport than the original, but above all to have permanently installed pickups for easier amplification in live situations. Since sound generation based on samples has become possible, transport and amplification are no longer a real challenge. The new CP series from Yamaha provides an answer to the question of what standards are set for a Stage Piano today!
