A chance for the contrabassoon to step to the fore! Three pieces showcasing the largest of the double reed family, accompanied by three bassoons. Focussing on the lower range of the instrument, reaching up to the heady heights of (written) middle C, these will make a humorous addition to any concert; l'Elephant from Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saens, Dance of the Hours by Ponchielli, and The Policeman's song by Arthur Sullivan. The bassoon parts are rhythmically easier, but do reach top B in places.
