Maury Yeston - December Songs

Now back in print, this book matches the work commissioned for Andrea Marcovicci by the Carnegie Hall Corporation in honor of Carnegie Hall's Centennial Season. The premier was given in Weill Recital Hall at CarnegieHall on April 16, 1991. It is a song cycle in the American cabaret trad ition, written in reaction to Schubert's Die Winterreise (a womanstruggles to get over a devastating love affair). The songbook also fea tures complete lyrics and a separate lyric section, notes on “December Songs” by Bernard Jacobson, and a bio of composer Maury Yeston.
