The successor to the popular PX-150BK, the Privia PX-160 utilises Casio's famous AiR Sound Source and its remarkable Tri-Sensor Scaled Hammer Action II Keyboard. With several enhancements in sounds and features over the previous generation, the PX-160BK continues to provide world-class features and style at an unbeatable price.
Privia piano tones sourced from recordings of world-famous concert grand pianos. Casio’s new AiR (Acoustic and intelligent Resonator) sound source provides unmatched realism and detail. This sound engine provides seamless dynamics for a remarkably expressive and powerful performance. The capacity of the installed memory has mainly been expanded to allow longer samples and enhanced waveform data quality, while the Lossless Audio Compression technology enables reproduction of the original piano sample without deterioration of the unique sound quality. The player’s touch controls subtle nuances such as the length of note reverberation and tonal colour – just as on an acoustic piano.
The PX160 introduces newly developed true-round speakers which are designed to provide a highly refined, yet deep and powerful sound. The new speaker system delivers the complex and intricate detail of a piano sound in the most accurate manner possible across the range from bright, delicate high tones, to powerful thumping bass tones.
The new AiR sound source reproduces the resonance created by using the damper pedal naturally through the use of a stereo resonance simulator for all 88 keys. The attention to detail goes so far as to simulate the resonance created by the lifting of the dampers themselves when the pedal is pressed. The resonance system allows players to perform with an unprecedented amount of vivid detail.
The new Tri-Sensor Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard II responds to subtle variations in the time between detection of a keystroke and sound production, depending on the speed of the keystroke. The system uses three sensors that detect the keystroke sequentially, which also enables a sound to be produced repeatedly, even when the key has not fully returned to its resting position. The action relies solely on the weight of the hammer, which become progressively heavier towards the lower end and gradually lighter towards the higher end of the keyboard, simulating the characteristic of the action on a grand piano.
The stereo Line Out terminal adds to the flexibility of the PX-160, allowing the piano to connect to external sound equipment such as an amp or PA system. This makes the PX160 an excellent choice for both home use and studio or live performance situations.
Simulated Ebony and Ivory Feel Keys
The simulated ebony and ivory keys offer the luxurious feel and texture of a grand piano keyboard. The surface allows maximum grip and avoids slipping of the fingers due to moisture.
The PX-160 can be used as a portable piano on its own or combined with the Furniture Kit options with the CS67BK slim design stand and SP33 pedal board to create an attractive furniture piece to suit any home interior design. Also included in the Furniture Kit is a matching height adjustable piano bench. The piano easily detached from the stand for maximum portability. Alternatively, choose the Pro Kit package which includes an SC700P padded gig bag and SP20 sustain pedal - great for the performer who needs to transport the digital piano from home to the gig. Whatever your scenario, the PX-160 can handle them all.
A 5-year warranty backs all Casio keyboards, digital pianos and synthesisers purchased from an authorised Australian retailer.*
