Brass Instruments

Brass instruments are divided into two categories: valved brass– which includes, Trumpet, French Horn, Euphonium and Tuba; and slide brass– such as the Trombone. No matter which type you choose, you'll find a wide variety of both at Carlingford Music Centre.

The term brass instrument relates to todays instruments as we know them, being made entirely of brass. The very first instruments were constructed from animal horns & tusks, wood and even shells! The sound is made from where the player's lips vibrate against the mouthpiece, creating a noise which is then controlled by either valves or a slide. Within this category, you'll find Alto, Tenor & Baritone Horns, Bugles, Cornets, Euphoniums, Flugelhorns, French Horns, Marching Brass, Trombones, Trumpets and Tubas.
